CHARACTER DESIGN
And MODELING
When designing robot characters, I always had simple mechanical systems and hardsurface designs in mind. I examined the robot designs that fit these recipes and created a design in my own head. During this process, I examined dozens of different robot designs. I personalized the points I liked in the designs and used them in my characters.
-HECTOR-
Hector was supposed to be a tough and functional character because of his personality. So I used a multi-part structure in its design, I wanted its joints to consist of hydraulic pistons. His eye can dislocate when desired and allows him to see places where his head cannot turn. Its arms and legs are thick, so it can handle heavy loads. So when I designed Hector, I was very careful that he reflects his personality.
-CAT-
CAT is a simple mechanical system product of the Catlerpull brand, which is a flash of the Caterpiller brand that produces construction equipment today. CAT's design was inspired by the business machine style. I used chain and gear mechanisms in their joints. This design actually reflects the CAT's personality. I paid attention to the fact that the simple body parts that show the solid stance of the CAT represent the power of mind, the complex illuminated and modular head design and the body is a simple design.
